Hi all
I received my new Baby Loop from DX Engineering today and realized after opening the huge box it was not assembled like the online manual showed. No biggie I thought...
I inserted the included DVD into my computer thinking I would find some updated instructions to help me put it together and all I found was one small pdf file in Italian of instructions that did not match my loop.
No biggie I thought again... I'll get online and find the new instructions....Nope, only the older outdated instructions showing the Baby Loop coming out of a box fully assembled.
Well, I work with my hands for a living and proceeded to put it together and was successful...to a point. There are not enough bolts included to put the mast mount together. There are 4, not 8 that are needed. No biggie, I'll stop at the hardware store tomorrow.
The thing that I cannot figure out is how the actuator cable is used/connected. The cover to the little box on the side was barely screwed on so I removed it to find an open connector and no idea what to do with it. There is no other cable to connect to it.
Can anybody tell me what to do with it? I'll include pics...
Thanks in advance. 73's :-)
Well it worked and I am impressed. Thank you Adrian! I setup the antenna on a tripod 6 feet away from my radio desk and achieved low noise and perfect operation. I really didn't receive a thing and it seemed like the bands were completely dead but I'm sure that was just the temporary setup I was using. I'll get it up in the air over the next few days.

Thank you very much! I'll run a cable from the controller to the connector and give it a try!
Hi, Jeff,
The bulkhead grommet on the right is indeed where you pass a 2-core cable through and join it to the white 'chocolate block' connector. The blue object is a ferrite ring used to provide RF isolation. In my case I removed the bulkhead grommet and put in a waterproof SP13/IP68 2-pin connector. You will need to get some 2-core cable, and here in Cyprus with the sunshine I had to use silicon rubber insulated cable. So, try and get some 2-core cable that is rated for outdoor use.The other end of this cable is connected to the 2-pin connector that should be plugged into the mating socket on the rear of the controller. It does not matter which way it is wired, when you set up the installation for the first time you will use the Auto-Detect feature and the controller will determine both the type of antenna and the 'sense' of the motor connections.

One more thing. There is a grommet on the side of that control box which looks to be used to pass a able thru it.
Do I need to make a control cable and run it from the tuner to this connector?
