Another great sign, a great signal from one of our customers, Kai Gunter, LA3QMA.
He purchased our Stealth Loop earlier this year and tried to get the ATU2 working with his SunSDR transceivers (Expert Electronics). To cope with that experiment, he was willing to act as our Beta Tester for the latest ATU2 Firmware CML_409. Our ATU2 was never made/tested with a SunSDR transceiver yet.
Bingo, he did a great job and let us know how he was proceeding.
He confirmed that with the following measurements one will be able to use our Loops with the EESDR2 and EESDR3 from Expert Electronics very well.
Owners need to get a zero-modem/null-modem cable and a serial-to-usb adapter in case their computers don’t have the db9 Serial sockets any more.
Kai was writing a special software to be downloaded here, for the SDR -transceivers.

1. Connect the null modem cable to the USB Serial adaptor.
2. Connect one end to the ATU2 and the other to your computer’s USB port.
3. Configure the ATU2 (with firmware 4.09!) to use CAT MODE 3.
4. In Expert Electronics SunSDR2 software enable ECATv1 in the CAT-menu with the port name i.e. COM3.
Using the RS232 Serial Nullmodem Cable DB-9(female) to DB-9(female) you might need the Serial Adapter RS-232 DB-9 (Male) to USB Type A or in case of a different USB socket at your PC a Serial-Adapter-Chipset-Supports-Windows.
Kai: “Start my software with parameters like COMPort and i.e. localhost:50001”
Once more we would like to express our biggest respect and appreciation to Kai, for his efforts to the benefit of the Mazzoni community as well as for his selfless permission to publish all his infos and software on Facebook and our Community page.
